Diane Arbus

Type: Art/advertising
Intent: Convey a message of emotion of the man and his probable pain from his tatoos
Emphasis: Black and white and texture (of the tatoos - they have a fake texture)
Element: Tone line of the tattoos
My eye went to his eyes first because there is a white around them and he looks in pain but also complacent.

Edward Weston
Anne Geddes
Lois Greenfield
Ansel Adams

Type: Art and portrait
Intent: Convey the emotion of the nuns
Emphasis: depth of field- the amount of nuns, and the many lines
Elements: The line/tone of their outfits is important, it starts off strong with the first on and then gets lighter with each nun, so that they begin to sort of blend together. My eye goes to the front nuns necklace first, since it is shiny and stands out on her outfit.
Edward Curtis

Type: Landscape and documentary
Intent: Convey a message of emotion, and show the impoverished family.
Emphasis: Depth of field- there are the people, their surroundings, the next house, and then the woods go pretty far back
Elements: texture
My eye goes to the mom in the corner first, because shes the tallest and stands out
Annie Leibovitz

Type: Art but could also be landscape of the ocean
Intent: To sell Michael Phelps, but also convey a message of emotion between the mermaids and the water
Emphasis: Light- the different usage of light is what makes this picture stand out
Elements: Texture- of the fins on the mermaids. My eye goes to the females hair first because its the one thing not blue.
